- Plays the trombone in The Church School Marching band on the 4th of July.
- In the miniseries, when Mike is cornered by the Bowers gang and threatened with a firecracker, an adult sees everything and tells them to stop it. One of the rare moments when an adult from Derry takes action when others are under the influence of Pennywise.
- Mike is one of the three members of the Loser's Club to appear in another novel, (alongside Richie Tozier and Beverly Marsh). However, he appears in Insomnia, while both Richie and Beverly appear in 11/22/63.
